In Field Commander: Alexander, you step into the shoes of the legendary Alexander the Great, embarking on his epic quest for conquest to expand the Macedonian empire and achieve eternal glory. The adventure kicks off in 338 BC, even before the famous Battle of Chaeronea, placing you directly in the young leader's command. From this point on, the reins of destiny are in your hands: decide where to march, when to fight, when to negotiate, and even when to seek divine prophecies to guide your actions. You'll have a diverse army at your disposal, including infantry, archers, phalanxes, and cavalry, alongside advisors, scholars, courtesans, and spies. The key to victory and glorification lies in how you combine these resources with your own strategic plans. The game is divided into several campaigns, each covering a few years of Alexander's life. While each campaign has its own objectives, the path to achieving them is entirely yours. Will you go to battle or attempt negotiation? Do you assess your army's strength against the enemy's? Do you weigh the gains and losses of each decision? These are the crucial choices you must make to live up to Alexander's immortal standards. Campaigns can be played individually or linked, allowing the outcomes of one to influence the starting situation of the next, creating a continuous and challenging narrative of the conqueror's life.
