About the game
What you do in a play session
Pack your bags and check the oil, because Fill the Rows: Road Trip is here to turn your next trip into a frantic competition! This is a super fast-paced roll-and-write game, perfect for those seeking uncomplicated fun. Your goal is to complete four iconic American road trip routes—like the legendary Route 66 or the Pacific Coast Highway—by marking stops on your own individual sheet. But don't think it's just about marking an X and you're done; the pace here is intense!
Each turn, the active player (the Driver) rolls six dice: two neutral 'Gas Money' dice, which allow all players to mark a stop, and four colored 'Bonus Miles' dice, one for each route. Here is the trick: while everyone can use the gas money dice to mark a single stop, the Driver gets an exclusive advantage—they can pair one Bonus Miles die with a gas money die to mark an additional stop on a specific route. But watch out, the road has its traps! You must follow the stop order, and to complete a route, you must have already marked at least four stops on it. You have to commit to the journey before you can cross the finish line!
The pressure builds fast: the game ends as soon as two players complete their routes or if someone accumulates three 'Detour' penalties. If you can't make a valid move, you take a detour (point penalty), but you can use a 'ask for directions' ability once per game to re-roll all dice without penalty. Scoring is triangular, meaning each additional stop on a route becomes worth more than the last. It's a race against time and your friends to see who reaches the destination with the highest score and the fewest detours. Fast, tense, and perfect to play anywhere!
