About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a spine-chilling cooperative adventure in Folklore: The Affliction! In this 1-5 player RPG board game, your mission is clear: find and eradicate the source of an ancient evil that is corrupting the land and its inhabitants. Vampirism and lycanthropy are just some of the afflictions plaguing the world, and it's up to you and your companions to free the people and expand your own abilities to confront the darkness. The coolest part is that death isn't the end: your character can continue playing as a ghost, with ethereal powers to aid your allies from beyond the grave! You're never truly out of the action, which is a huge differentiator.

Folklore plunges you into an immersive narrative, featuring strategic combat, deep character development, and extensive customization options. Your choices and the outcomes of your actions – whether successes or failures – genuinely impact the entire group, heightening tension and interaction. Choose one of six unique and customizable characters and embark on a quest to accumulate Lore by overcoming supernatural afflictions. You'll explore the region, entering dark locations that transform into true miniature-based 'dungeon crawls'. As you delve deeper into the darkness, even more intriguing storylines unfold, propelling your quest to banish evil back to where it belongs. If you enjoy a good horror story with plenty of exploration and tactical combat, Folklore is an excellent choice!
