Get ready to dive into the wild beauty of Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor, a standalone game that expands the Forest Shuffle universe with a brand new habitat! Here, you and your friends will compete to create the most vibrant and valuable ecosystem, planting trees and shrubs to attract a variety of species, building a balanced home for flora and fauna. The big star of this edition are the TERRAIN cards, which are played horizontally and offer a new type of dwelling or feeding ground for species that don't get along so well with trees and shrubs. But pay attention: the nature of the terrain matters! Deer, for example, don't really like swamps or peatlands, preferring to stay away from wet areas or streams. This means you'll have to think carefully about where to place each species so they feel safe and thrive. Like its predecessor, Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor brings a brilliant twist with the card backs: any of the 180 cards in the deck can be flipped face down to create a bog, if the action allows it. Caves are now drafted at the beginning of the game, giving each player asymmetrical starting conditions and unique strategies from the very first turn. To make life and bonuses easier, the number of tree symbols has been adjusted from eight to six. The core mechanic remains the same: each player starts with six cards in hand, which can be trees, shrubs, terrain, or two moor dwellers (animals or plants), split in half. On your turn, you can either draw two cards (from the deck or the clearing) or play a card from your hand, paying the cost with other discarded cards. In the end, whoever has the most prosperous and highest-scoring environment takes the victory!
