About the game

What you do in a play session

Fortress Europa is a classic wargame that puts you in command of Allied or Axis forces during World War II, from D-Day to March 1945. As the Allies, your challenge is to choose an invasion site, secure a successful landing, and push through France into Germany. As the Germans, your mission is to repel the invasion or conduct a strategic retreat, delaying the enemy and counterattacking in winter. With a detailed hexagon map, 520 counters, and rules simulating everything from weather to logistics, each game is a lesson in historical strategy. The base game lasts 37 turns, but shorter scenarios and sudden death victory conditions speed up play. Perfect for wargame fans who enjoy deep, decision-heavy simulations.
