Hey board game enthusiasts! If you enjoyed the classic Glen More, get ready for a supercharged experience with Glen More II: Chronicles. This game is the sequel that takes everything we loved about the original and adds a ton of new features, transforming the journey of leading a Scottish clan into something epic. Here, you take on the role of a clan chief, from the early medieval ages to the 19th century, with the mission of expanding your territory and, of course, your wealth. The key to success? Making the right decisions at the right time! Whether it's creating pastures for your livestock, growing barley for that respectable whisky, selling your goods in the markets, or conquering important landmarks like lochs and castles, every choice matters.
The core of the game, the time track and tile placement system, remains the same: the player who is last on the track chooses a tile, advances as far as they wish, pays the cost, and adds it to their territory. The clever part is that the tile you just placed activates itself and all neighboring tiles, generating resources, movement points, and, of course, many victory points. But the 'Chronicles' in the title aren't just for show! They represent eight expansions that can be freely combined, adding super interesting gameplay elements. Want an example? The 'Highland Boat Race' puts you in an insane boat race, while 'Hammer of the Scots' introduces a neutral 'Englishman' who can give you an extra turn, if you can control him. Additionally, you can now invest in famous Scottish historical figures, who bring unique bonuses and personal strategies. With larger tiles, refreshed art, and balancing adjustments, Glen More II: Chronicles is an evolution that promises many hours of fun and strategic challenges.
