About the game
Imagine it's the year 2178. The world has evolved, but ancient technology still holds valuable secrets. You step into the shoes of a hacker specializing in 'digital archaeology,' infiltrating the networks of warehouses filled with obsolete machinery. Your goal? Find security holes to retrieve precious data and sell it to the megacorporations that rule the planet. To achieve this, you'll need to manipulate security cameras and organize network connections strategically.

On the board — which is actually a 4x4 grid filled with cards — the competition is fierce. Glitches, designed by the legendary Reiner Knizia, is a two-player duel where observation is everything. The game uses cards numbered 1 to 6 in four different colors. On each turn, you place a card in the grid, aiming to create patterns: sets of three or four cards of the same value, the same color, or numerical sequences.

The tension arises because every card you place could be the missing piece for your own score, but it could also be the perfect opportunity for your opponent to 'steal' the move and complete their own pattern. It's the kind of game where you must plan your move while carefully monitoring what you're leaving behind for the other player. At the end of the game, the cards remaining in your hand also score as if they were a final line in the grid, determining who was the most efficient hacker of the night.

As part of PaperGames' Micro line, the game is extremely portable and fast, ideal for those who want a mental challenge without needing hours of commitment. It proves that you don't need a giant board to have strategic depth. If you enjoy pattern recognition and want a quick, cerebral duel, Glitches is the perfect entry point into the world of micro games.
