Imagine that the ancient capital of the gnomes has become too small due to human expansion. The solution? Head to the Great Mountain and found Gnomopolis, the new underground metropolis! You take on the role of one of these brave explorers, and your mission is to transform an empty stone hall into a prosperous and efficient district. But it's not just about raising walls; the secret here lies in population management.
The game dynamics revolve around a drawing system: each turn, you draw three gnomes from a cup and must decide how to use them. They are your workforce to construct buildings, earn gold coins, or even create mechanical golems. The trick is specialization: you must train your gnomes so they fit the demands of the buildings you construct. If you have the right building and the gnome with the correct profession, the gears turn and your score rises.
The game is a strategic and frantic race. You'll need to balance city growth with worker qualification while trading with neighbors to optimize your gains. The depth comes from the almost infinite combination of buildings and worker types, allowing each game to create different combos and ingenious scoring systems. In the end, the player with the most gold and the best labor management (be careful not to leave gnomes unemployed!) wins. It's a title that blends the tension of worker placement with the satisfaction of seeing your city grow organically, all within a fast-paced session of about 45 minutes.
