In Greenland, you take on the role of one of three tribes that inhabited the island between the 11th and 15th centuries: the Tunit (green), the Norse (red), or the Thule (yellow). The goal is to ensure the survival and prosperity of your people, seeking food, resources, and technologies to increase the population, care for the elders and children, and expand your livestock. But beware, hunting native animals can be risky, and not all your hunters will return. The game simulates life in these extreme conditions, with weather events and resource scarcity being constant challenges. You'll need to make important decisions, such as choosing between monotheism and polytheism, which will affect your final score. Negotiation between players is fundamental, whether for peaceful agreements or to protect your wives and animals. Each generation (turn), you will send your members to hunt, gather resources, colonize new lands, or even attack rival tribes. Dice luck can be your ally or enemy, but technologies and alliances can mitigate risks. Managing your domesticated livestock and your elders' actions, such as inventions or proselytization, are also crucial parts of the strategy. Greenland is a tableau-building game with elements of auction, dice rolling, and worker placement, offering an immersive and challenging experience, including in its solo mode.
