About the game

What you do in a play session

Haleakala is a two-player strategy game where you compete as tribal leaders vying for influence on the slopes of a sacred Hawaiian volcano. Each turn, you use numbered chips to move a ship around the board, collecting cards that let you build tiki statues at different volcano elevations. The higher you build, the more points you score – but you're also closer to danger when the volcano erupts (and yes, it'll blow twice per game!). It blends hand management (choosing when to play cards) with area control, as you can sabotage opponents' statues with well-timed eruptions. Seashells act as currency to buy powerful cards, and the tiki art style brings full Polynesian charm to the table. In 40 minutes, you'll alternate between careful calculations and explosive luck, all wrapped in a mix of mythology and pure strategy.
