About the game

What you do in a play session

The Age of the Locust looms, casting ominous shadows from a desert of endless storms. Set in a beautifully illustrated fantasy Egypt, Scarab Lords pits two mythical Scarab Lords against each other in a battle for dominance across three pillars of civilization: religion, military and economics. Each player starts with a 30‑card deck that can be customized, filled with powerful sorcerers, legendary beasts, epic monuments and massive armies. Victory comes from gaining influence in the areas; the first to dominate two of the three wins the game.

The design blends Hand Management – you must decide the optimal order and timing of your cards – with Area Majority/Influence, as each card places a symbol on one of the board's regions, fighting for control. While the cards are not collectible, the pre‑built decks can be tweaked before play, letting you tailor the strategy to your taste. Games run 20‑40 minutes and the 1.9 BGG weight signals easy‑to‑learn rules, perfect for a quick tactical showdown.

Although the original language is English, translated sheets and card lists are available for Portuguese speakers. Tailored for two‑player duels, Scarab Lords delivers a compact, strategic card duel where every decision can shift the balance of a celestial and earthly war. If you enjoy themed card games with fast, thoughtful play, this title will hook you fast.
