Get ready to put on your boots and take charge of a Bavarian village around 1850! In Hallertau, you are the chief of a small community in the world's largest hop-producing region. Your goal? Turn your village into a beacon of wealth and prestige, making the entire world look upon you with admiration. To achieve this, you'll need a solid strategy to supply local craftsmen with agricultural goods and invest heavily in sheep breeding.
But it's not just about planting and harvesting. The game carries the signature of master designer Uwe Rosenberg with intelligent, interconnected mechanics. First, there's the progressive worker placement: action spaces can be used multiple times, but each subsequent visit becomes more expensive. Then, there's the two-field rotation system: your fields lose potency over time, so you must let them lie fallow to regain fertility and produce efficiently once again.
Card management is another crucial point; you can play cards at any time, and knowing exactly when to trigger combos can completely change the course of the game. And watch your flock! Breeding sheep early provides great perks, but remember they have an expiration date and will eventually die of natural causes, forcing you to renew your livestock. With a modular board that changes every game and an economic system where unchosen resources increase in value, Hallertau is a robust Eurogame that rewards long-term planning and adaptability.

Yes! The game features a dedicated solo mode for those who want to test their strategies on their own.
Does the board change every game?
Yes, the board is modular, meaning the layout of action spaces changes, requiring new strategies each time.
