If you're the type who loves pure, straightforward mental challenges without fluff or dice working against you, Hexxagon is your playground. This 1992 classic is a brilliant adaptation of the famous Ataxx, but with a twist of class: it swaps the square board for a hexagonal grid system. What does that change? Well, it changes the entire geometry of your strategic thinking! The goal is simple to understand but hard to master: you need to control most of the board through three main movements. First, you can expand your territory by placing a new piece adjacent to one you already own. Second, you can jump, moving an existing piece to a position two spaces away. And here comes the spice: infection! Whenever you place a piece adjacent to an opponent's piece, you 'infect' it, turning it into your color. It's a frenetic game of territorial occupation where the board is constantly shifting. Since it's a digital implementation, you won't find a cardboard box on your shelf, but rather the convenience of facing online opponents on platforms like Yucata or igGameCenter. It's the perfect game for a quick 20-minute session while grabbing a coffee or for an intense duel of pure strategy. Get your brain ready, because every move can completely change the map dominance!
