About the game

What you do in a play session

Imagine a world where energy was derived from magical crystals, until human greed triggered a cataclysm. The Hyperborean civilization was wiped out, leaving only a magical barrier that isolated the survivors for centuries. Now, that barrier has fallen, and what remains — mysterious ruins, harmless ghosts, and ancestral secrets — is open to whoever is bold enough to conquer it. You take command of one of six rival realms, each with its own identity: from the brute force of the Red Duchy to the diplomacy of the Golden Barony.

The heart of the game is the management of your 'civilicubes'. Instead of cards, you use a bag of colored cubes representing your people's specializations: war, trade, movement, building, knowledge, and growth. Each turn, you draw three cubes and decide how to use them to activate technologies and expand your influence. But beware: progress comes at a cost. As you develop new technologies, you end up adding grey cubes to your bag, representing corruption and waste. The more complex your society becomes, the more 'trash' you generate, which can hinder your future draws.

The goal is to dominate the continent by exploring the modular map, conquering cities, and collecting artifacts. It is a civilization game, but with a lighter and more dynamic feel, where the luck of the bag draw blends with long-term strategy. Will you focus on building an unbeatable army or prefer the path of science and exploration? The choice is yours, but remember that your rivals won't just stand by while you claim the glories of Hyperborea.
