About the game
What you do in a play session
Prepare to relive the Trojan War in Iliad, an abstract strategy game for two players where you control one of the great heroes of the battle: Hector or Achilles. The goal? To win the favor of the gods and emerge victorious from the epic conflict. On each turn, you choose one of the two tiles you hold in hand and place it on the board, always adjacent to an opponent's tile. These tiles have strength values and, more importantly, special abilities that can change the course of the game. The secret lies in knowing where and when to use your tiles, as the tension builds with every move. When a row or column is completed, the player with the highest total strength in that line chooses one of the two available success tokens, while the other goes to the opponent. These tokens can grant you divine favor or affect your final score. The game ends with a dual condition: whoever earns the favor of all five gods wins. If this doesn't happen, the player with the most points claims the glory. This duality forces difficult tactical decisions: is it worth focusing on the gods or the points? Iliad is the first title in the Mythos Collection series, promising more games focused on strategy and mythology. With quick 30-minute games and an accessible strategic weight (2.06/5), it's a great pick for those who enjoy intense duels with a touch of history and pure strategy.
