About the game
In 'In the Year of the Dragon,' you step into the shoes of a Chinese ruler around the year 1000, amidst a period of great turmoil. The game unfolds over twelve rounds, each representing a month, and with each passing month, the situation seems to worsen! Prepare to face devastating droughts, diseases threatening your population, and even attacks from the fearsome Mongols. And, of course, don't forget to keep the Emperor happy with generous tributes – after all, no one wants to anger royalty, right?

While the premise seems challenging, the gameplay is more accessible than you might imagine. Each round, you have a set of 'person' cards and must choose a strategic action. Most of these actions depend on your workers' abilities, which are crucial for your survival. After choosing an action, you recruit one of these 'persons' and assign them to one of your palaces. Each brings unique skills: farmers ensure rice for drought months, tax collectors fill your coffers, and so on.

The big challenge comes at the end of each round when a monthly event is triggered. These events can be quite cruel, costing you valuable workers, hard-earned money, or occasionally granting victory points. Careful planning is key to surviving this 'year of the dragon,' but merely surviving doesn't guarantee victory. You'll need strategy and adaptability to thrive amidst the chaos and prove you are the most capable ruler of the empire!
