Hey board game enthusiasts! Get ready for an epic duel in feudal Japan with The White Castle Duel, a game that throws you right into the shoes of an ambitious daimyo. Here's the story: the Portuguese arrived, and with them, new technologies and trade routes. Now, the clans are vying for control over all of this, and Himeji Castle, the famous White Heron Castle, has become the center of attention. Your mission is simple (but not really): exert your influence in the court, manage resources like a master, and build a point-scoring engine that will leave your opponent in the dust.
Each round, you'll use your lantern tokens to activate actions and collect resources. And believe me, the options are plentiful! You can invest in influence cards, upgrading them to maximize your gains, or strategically place your clan seals in gardens and training grounds to secure bonuses. Want more? Move your courtier through circles of influence to unlock new opportunities or, of course, trade with the Portuguese to secure those valuable resources. Every action you take helps you accumulate icons – flags, katanas, kabutos, and origami figures – which convert into victory points. Ultimately, whoever has the most points takes the glory and control of the White Castle. It's a game of pure strategy, with lots of tactical decisions and an exciting race for supremacy!
