About the game
What you do in a play session
In Middle Ages you become the lord of a fief and decide how to shape your domain. The game runs for 16 rounds; each turn you pick a Plot tile from the current row, place your Lord token on it and add it to your fief. The tiles represent the eight pillars of medieval life – fields, farms, villages, walls, markets, barracks, churches and palaces – each scoring in its own way, often depending on other tiles already in play. Smart combos can boost your income, while some tiles let you attack neighbors or reserve future pieces. The board is modular, so the layout shifts each game, demanding both forward planning and flexibility to adapt to new opportunities. After the 16th round, the player with the most money – the victory currency – is crowned the most influential lord in the kingdom. The game blends set collection, open drafting, tile placement and a dash of take‑that, all wrapped in light rules (weight 2/5) and about 30‑minute plays. Perfect for fans of medieval economic strategy who don’t want a heavyweight experience.
