If you are a fan of that 80s cult classic, get ready! Jim Henson's Labyrinth brings the magic (and the chaos) of the movie straight to your gaming table. Here, you and your friends step into the shoes of Sarah, Ludo, Sir Didymus, and Hoggle on a desperate mission: navigating the labyrinth to rescue little Toby from the clutches of the Goblin King, Jareth. It is an adventure for 1-5 players that strives to capture that exact sense of strangeness and enchantment from the film.
The gameplay is split into two major stages that keep the momentum going. First, the group must traverse the labyrinth, attempting to locate the Goblin City while carefully managing the characters' willpower. Watch out, or you might lose control and end up falling into the dark oubliettes! Once the destination is reached, things get intense: the second stage leads you straight to Jareth's castle, where Sarah must utter the correct magical words to free her brother.
One of the standout features is the replayability. While the board is visually stunning and deeply thematic, the real magic lies in the encounter and monster cards. Since the blank spaces on the map are filled by these cards during each session, the labyrinth is never the same twice. This ensures every game is an unpredictable journey, filled with surprises and dangers that reshape your planned route. It is a game that demands genuine cooperation; if the group fails to work together to manage resources and navigate hazards, the Goblin King will certainly have the last laugh!
