About the game

What you do in a play session

In 1097, thousands of knights, soldiers, and pilgrims marched eastward in response to the Pope's call, tasked with reclaiming Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Kingdom of Heaven recreates this epic conflict in a strategic two-player wargame where cards drive events, battles, and negotiations across a map stretching from Antioch to Egypt. Nine historical scenarios cover everything from the First Crusade to the rise of the Mamluk Empire, each with unique cards and legendary commanders like Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. Turns represent years, and games last 3-4 hours, blending area influence, dice rolling, and variable phases. Dive deep into history with all the treacherous alliances and dramatic sieges of the era. The game includes a detailed map, 110 cards, and around 500 counters, but beware: it's text-heavy and requires translation for non-English speakers.
