In Knock Down, Drag Out, you aren't just a patron at The Thirsty Cactus; you are one of the main fighters in a frantic, chaotic bar brawl. The goal is straightforward: be the last one standing once the dust settles. Each player starts with a character card that has two sides: Healthy and Hurt. If you take too much damage and get knocked out, you risk being literally tossed out of the bar and out of the game!

The gameplay is incredibly fast-paced and direct. On your turn, you can choose to launch an attack or spend your time drawing more cards to bolster your hand. The deck is a wild mix of brutal attacks (like punches and kicks), strategic actions (like ducking or playing possum), and improvised items that could be anything from a broken chair leg to a bottle of firewater.

Combat relies on a dice roll: a punch might leave your target hurt on a high roll, while a kick might be slightly more forgiving or lethal depending on your strategy. If you get hurt once, you flip your character card to the 'Hurt' side. If things get worse and you are hit again before you can heal, you fall to the floor, vulnerable to being thrown out of the saloon entirely.
