About the game

What you do in a play session

Prepare for the end of the world in Munchkin Apocalypse! This game brings the classic Munchkin fun with an apocalyptic theme that includes everything: natural disasters, hungry zombies, alien invasions, and even nuclear war. The mission remains the same: level up, kill monsters, steal treasure, and, of course, betray your friends. But beware, because the apocalypse has brought a novelty: the Seals. Inspired by biblical seals, they can be opened and closed, being much harder to close. When seven of them are open, the game ends immediately! Whoever has the highest combat strength (excluding levels) gets the final glory. This new mechanic adds a sense of "imminent end" that, believe me, fits the theme perfectly. Interestingly, this can even encourage a bit of teamwork, as everyone might unite to close a Seal and prevent someone from winning too quickly. The deck is also more chaotic: more Disaster cards (traps and curses) and monsters, especially the tougher ones. To compensate, there are more items that boost your character and high-value treasures. Rumor has it this is a more challenging Munchkin, ideal for those who already know the series' ropes. It introduces four new classes but forget races and other frills. Oh, and get ready to face undead and Shark monsters with special rules! The game comes with 180 cards, including 12 square Seal cards and a thematic orange die. It's a game for those who enjoy Munchkin's chaos and acidic humor but want an extra pinch of desperation and challenge.
