About the game
What you do in a play session
In the Mountains of Sorrow, the war between the Guild Dwarves and the Cave Goblins rages on. The Summoner Wars: Guild Dwarves vs. Cave Goblins starter set provides two complete factions, each with its own Summoner, unit deck and spell cards. The goal is straightforward: use the Summoning Stone to call armies, cast spells and eliminate the opponent's Summoner. Games run about 30 minutes and support 2‑4 players, though the multiplayer mode needs expansions. The package includes a paper battle board, wound markers, a pair of dice, and a rulebook. Each faction boasts unique powers: dwarves rely on siege tactics and durability, while goblins swarm the field with relentless hordes. Dice rolling resolves combat and effects, while grid movement demands careful positioning. Hand management forces you to decide when to play attack, defense or summon cards, and variable player powers give each match a fresh flavor. The rules are concise and easy to memorize, yet the game offers enough tactical depth for players who enjoy mixing magic and positioning. Perfect for fans of fast, fantasy‑themed duels that keep everyone on their toes.
