Prepare for a wizard's duel in Warlock, a 1980 game where up to six sorcerers clash in a magical arena! The goal is simple: banish your opponents to limbo permanently, until only one remains. Each wizard has a limited energy reserve, crucial for casting offensive and defensive spells. Spending energy to defend yourself or return from limbo is part of the strategy, and if your energy runs out and you're banished, it's goodbye! Choosing between a black or white wizard can influence spell costs, adding an interesting tactical layer. Each player uses a reference chart to track their wizard's status and spell effects. Despite its age, Warlock offers a direct and strategic combat experience with resource management and unique powers. The version described on Ludopedia, however, transports us to Norkobia, where the objective is to build a magical empire instead of dueling. There, you use mythical creatures and cards to expand your territory, thwart opponents, and perhaps return home. The game involves placing cards in a 4x4 grid, managing your hand, participating in auctions, and expanding your empire to score points. It's a very different approach, focusing on building and auctioning, with a touch of negative interaction where other players can steal or destroy your achievements. There is no language dependency, making it accessible to all.
