Hey gamers! Ready to spice up your two-player sessions? Kodama Duo is that special version of Kodama: The Tree Spirits, tailor-made for pairs who enjoy a strategic challenge with a zen twist. The idea is simple: you and your partner will build a magical tree by cleverly placing branch cards to create the perfect home for the Kodamas. Each round brings twists with decree cards that change the season's rules. When it's time to grow the tree, things get interesting: one player reveals three cards and splits them into two piles. The other player chooses a pile, and the splitter gets the remaining one. Then, each player adds a branch to their tree. And there's more! Whoever received two cards discards one, and the other player gains a spirit token, which can alter future scoring. It's a quick game, around 30 minutes, that makes you think about every move and your opponent's strategy. Perfect for those who enjoy tile placement, set collection, and the 'I cut, you choose' mechanic. Besides being a fantastic two-player experience, Kodama Duo also offers rules to turn the original game into a party for up to six players, with card drafting and simultaneous turns to speed things up. If you like abstract games with a light nature theme that challenge you to plan ahead, Kodama Duo is a sure bet!
