Our Verdict
FOR GENRE FANS

Lagoon: Land of Druids is for players who enjoy modular boards and spatial strategy but want something unconventional. The game shines in how players interact with the ever-changing world - every decision physically alters the board and power balance. The three conflicting energies create an interesting rock-paper-scissors dynamic on a macro scale. Just don't expect a quick game: the strategic weight demands planning and patience.

About the game

What you do in a play session

In Lagoon: Land of Druids, you and up to three friends take on the roles of powerful druids shaping the destiny of a magical world. The modular board is built with hexagons representing sacred sites, each with two different sides - each side harbors a distinct divine energy (Elemeen, Vowelon, or Deonin) and a unique power. Each turn, you explore new sites, choosing which energy to favor and which magic to release into the world. But beware: you can also unravel sites tied to energies you want to weaken, shifting the balance of power. In the end, the dominant energy decides Lagoon's fate, and the player who best navigated this delicate balance wins. The game blends spatial strategy, resource management (the divine seeds), and a touch of rock-paper-scissors in the energy interactions. With rules for solo play or teams, Lagoon offers a different tactical experience each game as you and your opponents literally reshape the world beneath your feet.
