About the game
In Magnastorm, humanity has ventured to a mysterious planet, uncovering not only valuable resources but also the remnants of an ancient civilization. Your mission, under the magistracy's command, is to lead scout vehicles to find the best mining areas on the barren surface. The primary goal is to be the first to accumulate a certain number of reputation points, which you earn by fulfilling objectives, taking control of powerful commanders, and building crucial transmitter stations.

At the heart of the game is an ingenious action system. There's an action board with two panels, each featuring five columns. At the start of each round, action tokens (your crew members) are distributed on the upper panel. To act, you have two options: either take a token from the upper panel and move it to the lower one to gain resources or pay for a movement on the planet, or pay for all remaining tokens in an upper panel column to take control of a commander and their unique ability, then moving those tokens to the lower panel. The trick is that the first option reduces the cost of the second, creating a tactical dilemma about the best timing for each move. The round ends when the upper panel is empty, and then the panels are swapped for the next round. Magnastorm is a heavy tactical game with very little luck involved. Success hinges on sharp resource management, clever logistics, perfect timing, and constant attention to your opponents' moves. Oh, and at the end, each player receives a reward card that can be used in future games to balance things between players of different skill levels – a pretty neat touch!
