Hoist the sails or trade like a master in Merchants & Marauders! This game throws you headfirst into the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, where you can choose between the life of a cunning merchant or a dreaded pirate. The pursuit of glory and wealth drives everything, and there are several ways to get there: navigate lucrative trade routes, uncover mysterious rumors, complete risky missions, or, for the more audacious, plunder other ships. You can customize your ship, equipping it with impressive vessels, special ammunition, and a crew of specialists who will make all the difference in your adventures. But beware, the Caribbean Sea is treacherous! The goal is to be the first to accumulate 10 glory points. These points can come from heroic deeds, such as completing missions and defeating enemies (NPCs or other players), or from amassing a fortune in gold and buying a grand ship. Some points are permanent, but gold points can be lost if your captain is defeated, adding a layer of uncertainty about the game's end. A crucial decision is when (or if) to turn pirate. Both careers have their dangers: pirates are hunted for bounties and barred from certain ports, while merchants need to defend against pirates (both in-game and other players) and often sacrifice combat power for cargo capacity. Even if your captain meets their end in the depths, don't worry: you can restart with a new captain (with a small penalty), ensuring the fun never stops and you always have a chance at redemption.
