About the game
What you do in a play session
Set sail on an epic journey in Micro Hero: Ulysse, a solo card game that plunges you into the role of the legendary Greek hero on his perilous voyage back to Ithaca. Inspired by Homer's Odyssey, this game challenges you to navigate through four increasingly difficult rounds, confronting the wrath of Poseidon and the dangers of mythical creatures like the Cyclops and the Sirens. Each round, you'll build a 'Sea' tableau with revealed cards, and your mission is to select five of them to form the best possible hand. This hand will be compared against Poseidon's, which is also formed from the Sea cards and his 'Wrath Track.' The outcome of this comparison directly affects the sea god's mood: push too hard, and he might become Furious and stronger; fail, and the danger escalates. Ulysse has limited powers to aid you, but using them can further ignite Poseidon's anger. The tension mounts with the introduction of new 'Trial' cards each round, disrupting your plans and altering the Sea's configuration. The good news is that at the end of each round, Poseidon's wrath resets, allowing you to save your progress and resume the adventure later. Victory is achieved if you survive all trials and manage to contain the divine fury. And if you fancy some company, there's a cooperative two-player variant where you and a friend control Ulysse and Eurylochus together, sharing the card hand. But beware: when Poseidon becomes Furious, all communication between you is forbidden, adding an extra layer of tension during the most critical moments!
