Misty Valley

In Misty Valley, you and your opponent take on the roles of leaders of cute animal tribes (the Cherrygnawers or the Trailblazers) in a heated competition for control of a valley full of secrets and resources. Each turn, the fun begins with placing a new valley tile, which might reveal footprints and trigger encounters with other forest creatures, each with their own demands. Then, it's time to position your patrol pieces, trying to outnumber your rival to claim control of valley and encounter tiles with your banners. If you control an area, you can move your captain to strengthen your presence there. And don't forget each tribe's special abilities, which can turn the game around! Each tribe has unique powers and a double-sided board, allowing you to choose the best strategy before even starting. The game ends when the last valley tile is placed, followed by a final patrol move. The final scoring rewards those who control more tiles with the same resources and those who manage to satisfy the requests of the encountered creatures. It's a game of abstract strategy with a touch of territory building and a dash of luck in the encounters, perfect for those who enjoy quick duels full of tactical decisions.
