About the game
What you do in a play session
In Moonshine, the game is played in real-time, and everyone makes do with the dice rolled by the active player. The idea is simple: each player has their own speakeasy and needs to attract the coolest clientele to accumulate 12 prestige points. Whoever gets there first and has the highest score wins the night!
It works like this: the active player rolls the dice (and can even re-roll some, if they have access to more colored dice), forming a pool of icons. These icons represent the forbidden resources that customers are eager to consume – and each player has their own potential clients, with their specific demands. By satisfying a customer, they enter your bar and grant you a permanent bonus: it could be more prestige points, more resource icons, access to special dice (blue and red), or even new customers to fill your establishment.
And if the roll doesn't help? No panic! You're not stuck. You can pick up a Moon token to activate a temporary bonus on one of your cards, or simply swap a demanding customer for a brand new one. For those who enjoy an extra challenge, the game also offers an asymmetric start variant, where each speakeasy begins with unique abilities and temporary bonuses, ensuring that each game is a different experience. It's a race against the clock and against other speakeasy owners to see who dominates the illegal liquor market!
