About the game

What you do in a play session

Travel with Jonas and Jada, two stone‑age kids, and see how the first humans began to settle. My First Stone Age is the junior version of the classic Stone Age, with a 15‑minute playtime for 2‑4 young explorers. The goal is straightforward: gather resources, trade when needed, and erect three huts before anyone else.

At the start of each round, forest tokens around the village are flipped. Each revealed token tells where a player's meeple can act – collect wood, stone or food, visit the construction site, or call the helper dog Guff, who will fetch a needed resource when it’s time to build. When a player reaches the construction site, they pay the required resources and complete a hut. That visit also resets the forest tokens – they are turned back over and two are swapped, adding a memory challenge: who remembers the best resource layout?

The memory and set‑collection mechanics are presented in a gentle way, perfect for kids learning to plan and remember information. The components are bright, icons are large, and the board is illustrated with playful art, keeping little attention spans engaged. While simple, the game still offers a dash of strategy, as choosing the fastest gathering route can tip the balance. It’s an excellent first board‑game experience, introducing resource management and decision‑making without overwhelming. Families looking for a quick, thematic game before dinner will find My First Stone Age a solid pick.
