In Myrmes, players command ant colonies vying for territory, resources, and prestige. Each player has a personal board representing the colony interior: nurses tend larvae, soldiers protect, and workers perform tasks such as gathering stone, earth, or aphids. Outside the colony, a shared hexagonal board depicts terrain where ants can move, lay pheromone trails, and claim resource cubes. The game unfolds over three years, each divided into four seasons. At the start of every season, event dice grant bonuses like extra larvae or additional victory points; players may spend larvae to tweak these effects to their advantage. Then they allocate nurses to spawn new ants or take other actions, and worker ants venture out to explore, hunt prey (ladybugs, termites), place pheromones, or build special tiles such as aphid farms. At the end of each year, colonies must pay food to survive winter; failure incurs point penalties. The final goal is to have the most victory points after three years, blending exploration, resource management, and colony development. The game combines worker placement, hex‑grid movement, and network/route building, all wrapped in a charming ant‑themed setting that appeals to both fans of deep engine building and nature‑loving gamers.
