In Agricola: Family Edition, you step into the shoes of a farmer starting with the bare essentials: a humble wooden shack and a spouse to help. Each turn, you get two precious actions to manage your farm, whether it's collecting vital resources, expanding your land with pastures, or tending to your animals. Expanding your family for more help is an option, but remember: first, the house needs an upgrade, and then there's the challenge of feeding everyone!

The game unfolds over 14 rounds, divided into 6 stages, with a harvest at the end of each. Initially, you have two workers (you and your spouse), but new action options become available each round, broadening your possibilities. Since each action can only be taken by one player per round, planning ahead and prioritizing is crucial for success.

This edition significantly simplifies the experience of the original Agricola. Forget about stone and vegetables, and the complex improvement and occupation cards. Here, actions are available from the start, and building is more straightforward, focusing on scoring with leftover resources at the end. With no negative points or scoring limits, the goal is simply to accumulate as many points as possible with everything you've achieved. It's a great entry point into the Agricola universe, offering a more accessible and less punishing experience, somewhat reminiscent of 'Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small'. Ideal for those seeking a lighter and more direct worker placement experience.
