About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to get your hands dirty with New Kingdom: Sowers, a swift card game inspired by the Parable of the Sower. Here, you and one opponent become sowers, each with an identical deck of cards numbered 1 to 10, in yellow and black. The goal? Be the first to plant all your black seeds, in the correct order (1 to 10), in the 'Good Soil' area. But the path to harvest isn't straightforward! You'll need to scatter your cards across four different soil types, each with its own special rule. 'The Path' and 'Rocky Soil' are shared areas where things can get tense, as cards played there might end up out of the game. Meanwhile, 'Thorny Soil' helps you reorganize your deck, while 'Good Soil' is your path to victory. The game's mechanics directly reflect the parable: cards on 'The Path' are taken away, on 'Rocky Soil' they wither, on 'Thorny Soil' they are choked, and only on 'Good Soil' do they flourish. You'll need to think fast, manage your hand well, and perhaps even hinder your opponent a little, especially in the shared areas. It's a light game with short matches (15-30 min), perfect for those who enjoy uncomplicated strategic competition with a thought-provoking theme.
