About the game
What you do in a play session
In New York Slice you step into the shoes of an aspiring chef at a New York pizza joint hoping to become the city's top pizzaiolo. Each round a player slices a pizza into two portions; the opponent picks the portion they like best, while the cutter keeps whatever remains. There are twelve pizza flavors—from veggie to Hawaiian to meat‑lover—and every cut comes with a "Today's Special" that can attach to a portion or a single slice. Specials grant one‑time powers (like reserving a slice before the cut) or extra points. The goal is to build the best collection of flavors: the more slices of a given type you hold, the more points you score, but watch out for anchovies, which deduct points. Anchovies can appear on any flavor, so sometimes you must accept a negative slice to secure the majority. If two players tie for the most of a flavor, neither scores, but double‑flavored slices (half of each type) help break ties. Pepperoni slices can be eaten immediately for quick points or saved to count toward a majority. The game blends I Cut, You Choose, set collection, once‑per‑game abilities, and a progressive turn order, all in under 30 minutes, perfect for 2‑6 players who enjoy fast, negotiation‑heavy play.
