About the game
What you do in a play session
Next War: Poland is the fourth volume in GMT's Next War Series, moving the conflict from Asia to Europe. Here, players face a future war in Poland, where Russia and its allies invade, and NATO responds. The game covers only part of Poland, as Ukraine is embroiled in a civil war. The Russians are no longer the Cold War giant, but they have quality equipment and a well-trained army. The Baltic countries may fall quickly, but their forces can resist and appear as reinforcements. The battlefront establishes itself in eastern Poland as Russian armies advance and NATO rushes to defend the region. The question is: will NATO be able to stop the Russians, or will Poland be overrun? The game offers standard rules for a quicker and more accessible experience, but the true flavor of modern warfare comes through in the advanced mode, where players have more control over airpower and can explore each side's strengths and weaknesses. For those seeking a deeper experience, the campaign scenarios with optional rules are the ideal choice.
