Goal of the Game

In Nostra City, players take on the roles of lieutenants for a mafia boss in 1990s New York. The initial objective is to acquit the Godfather at the final trial, accumulating Respect and influencing the jury with bribes. If the Godfather is declared Not Guilty, the player with the most Respect points wins. However, if a player receives the FBI Snitch card, their objective changes: they must ensure the Godfather is found Guilty and have more Respect than other potential traitors.

Setup

  1. Separate the Wiseguys and Turfs cards into distinct piles.
  2. Deal 3 Wiseguys and 1 Turf face up to each player, forming their Territory.
  3. Each player chooses a Made Men token (unique color) and places it on space 0 of the Respect track, also receiving 4 Location cards of the same color.
  4. Distribute the starting money: two $5,000 Bills, one $10,000 Not Guilty, and one $10,000 Guilty (face down).
  5. Set up The Street with 4 cards face up (discard Investigations if they appear).
  6. Position the Title, Zealous Corruptor, and End Game Bonus cards near the board, in this order.
  7. Place the Verdict token on the starting space of the Jury Box (varies depending on the number of players).

The oldest player receives the First Player card.

Gameplay Flow

The game lasts 6 Months (turns), each consisting of 4 phases:

  1. BUSINESS: Players perform a Cash-in to earn money, sharing (or not) profits with others.
  2. MEETING: Secret auctions to acquire cards from The Street (new Wiseguys, Turfs, or to resolve Investigations).
  3. TRIAL: Bribes in the Corruption Pile to influence the final verdict.
  4. RECEPTION: Maintenance phase: release Wiseguys, refill The Street, and advance to the next Month.

On the 6th Month, the RECEPTION is replaced by the FINAL VERDICT.

Actions and How to Play

BUSINESS (Cash-in)

  • Make a Wiseguy and a Turf Busy.
  • Choose a Racket (color) or Traffic (icon) from the Turf.
  • Count how many corresponding Turfs exist in all players' Territories.
  • Take that amount of Bills and share (or not) with the owners of the Turfs.
  • If a player does not receive their share, they draw one Vendetta card for each missing Bill.

Exceptions: Police Raid cancels the Cash-in; Dual Turfs (e.g., Connecticut) count for two Rackets.

MEETING (Auctions)

  • Players make secret bids on cards from The Street using Bills and Location cards.
  • The highest bid wins the card. In case of a tie, no one wins.
  • Investigations require the sum of the bids to reach the Backhander value to be removed.
  • In the 3rd Month, the winner of the Underboss card distributes the Titles (Underboss, Consigliere, Primo Capo).

TRIAL (Bribes)

  • Players place Bills face down in the Corruption Pile.
  • Bills with the Not Guilty or Guilty icon influence the final verdict.
  • From the 4th Month onwards, unique players who bribe gain Zealous Corruptor (+1 Respect).

End of Game and Scoring

At the FINAL VERDICT (6th Month):

  1. Players use any remaining Vendetta cards.
  2. End Game Bonus cards are awarded (e.g., "Fine Team" for the player with the most Turfs/Wiseguys).
  3. The Corruption Pile is revealed, moving the Verdict token according to the icons (Not Guilty to the left, Guilty to the right).
  4. Remaining Investigations add Guilt points.

Victory:

  • If the Godfather is Not Guilty, the non-FBI Snitch with the most Respect wins.
  • If Guilty, the FBI Snitch with the most Respect wins. Without Snitches, everyone loses.

Tips for Winning

  • Control the First Player: The card allows you to dictate the order of phases and avoid being cheated.
  • Manage Vendettas: Being cheated can be useful to gain revenge cards, but watch out for the FBI Snitch.
  • Focus on Investigations: They accumulate Guilt and penalize everyone if not resolved in time.
