About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready to dive into Ohne Furcht und Adel Sonderausgabe, a special edition that adds an extra kick for those who enjoy a good card game with bluffing and building elements. Here, players take on different roles each round, hiring characters to help them gather gold and erect buildings. The goal? Be the first to build your eighth structure or have the highest score at the end. Buildings come in five colors, each offering its own bonuses, with purple ones featuring special abilities that can turn the tables. The trick is that each character has a unique power, and choosing the right one at the right time is crucial. Think about it: you've got the Assassin to eliminate an opponent, the Thief to steal gold, the Wizard to swap cards, the Warlord to destroy buildings... and so on! On your turn, you can either earn gold or draw building cards (and discard one), with the option to construct one building (or up to three if you're the Architect!). But beware, building costs gold! In the end, besides points from buildings, there are bonuses for building eight or collecting all five colors. This special 2012 edition also adds 15 new cards, including 7 types of action cards that are mixed into the building deck, bringing even more twists. These cards are worth points at the end and introduce effects like peeking at an opponent's hand, building more, negating assassinations, and even grabbing the crown! It's a game that blends strategy, tactics, and a good dose of 'will they attack me?'. Perfect for those who like to think fast and adapt.
