About the game

What you do in a play session

Ever dreamed of commanding a mighty army, perhaps even leading elephants across the Pyrenees and Alps to conquer Rome? If you're a fan of ancient history and the Roman Republic, ONUS! Rome Vs Carthage lets you live that fantasy. This wargame primarily focuses on the Second Punic War, but you can also simulate battles from the 3rd to 1st centuries BC. The game masterfully blends order and event cards, making each battle unpredictable and thrilling. Units are represented by cards detailing their stats like melee combat, ranged attack, defense, morale, and movement, which can be modified by battlefield conditions. Units also possess unique skills that can turn the tide of battle. Generals like Hannibal and Scipio provide crucial leadership bonuses to nearby troops, boosting morale and combat effectiveness. The game unfolds over six phases per turn: Unit Activation, Movement and Charges, Ranged Attack, Skirmishers, Combat, and Flee Movement. For the best experience, a decent play area (around 100x90 cm or 3.2x2.9 feet) is recommended to fully immerse yourself in the epic clashes between Rome and Carthage. Get ready for strategic depth and surprising twists!
