Game Objective

In Parvati, players traverse a path of carpets to reach the final destination. The objective is to strategically navigate the path, using the dice to advance and collect special items, aiming to reach the Temple of Parvati.

Preparation (Setup)

To set up your game, follow these steps:

  1. Create a random path using the 15 two-color carpets between the Royal Palace tile and the Temple of Parvati tile.
  2. Place the betting tiles within reach of all players.
  3. Place the wild carpets, the multicolored carpet, and the dice near the created path to form a reserve.
  4. Each player must choose a player marker and place it on the Royal Palace tile.

Game Flow

The game follows a simple turn order:

  • Start: The player who has most recently visited India is the first to play.
  • The Turn: The active player rolls the 6 dice and tries to place them on the two-color carpets or wild carpets to advance along the path.
  • Continuity: A player can only roll the dice again if they managed to place at least one die on a space or a wild in the previous turn.
  • Passing the Turn: The turn ends when the player decides to stop, when they place all the dice, or when they can no longer place any dice. The next player then starts their turn.

Actions and How to Play

During your turn, you must manage your dice rolls to advance along the path:

  • Placing Dice: You must place the dice on the spaces of the carpets corresponding to the colors/symbols on the dice faces. You can fill spaces in advanced positions (it does not have to be sequential).
  • Using Wilds: If you have a wild carpet in your stock, you can place it over a common carpet before placing the dice. If you place a die on a wild during your turn, you collect it at the end of the turn.
  • Movement: If you manage to complete the dice path, you move your player marker to the last position where you placed a die.
  • Movement Restrictions:
    • If you cannot place any dice, you must stop immediately, do not move, and cannot take a wild.
    • If, at the end of the turn, any space along the path between your current position and the last occupied space does not have a die, you lose the turn and do not advance.
    • Each space can only have one player marker at a time; spaces occupied by other players are not considered for your movement.

End of Game and Scoring

Refer to the manual for details on this section.

Tips for Winning

  • Risk Management: It is better to stop rolling the dice at the right time to ensure that the path between your current position and the last occupied space is fully filled, avoiding losing the turn without advancing.
  • Wild Strategy: Try to place dice on wild carpets to ensure you collect these items at the end of your turn.
