Patria Libre

Patria Libre throws you into the heart of Mexico's turbulent War of Independence, spanning from 1810 to 1821. On one side, the Insurgents fight to break free from Spanish rule; on the other, the Loyalists strive to maintain control. The game supports 1 to 4 players, who take on one of these sides and vie for territorial control to accumulate victory points. The player with the most points wins!

To turn the tide in your favor, you'll use command cards that allow you to recruit troops, move armies across the map, attack enemies, upgrade your units, collect taxes (and cash!), build fortifications, and even purchase event or character cards for that extra boost. The objective is clear: outscore your opponent in victory points, and to achieve this, dominating key regions is essential. But don't be fooled, cards are the heart of the strategy here! They grant you access to characters who can change the course of battle or events that bring unexpected rewards. And pay attention: popularity is a crucial factor! Gaining the people's support strengthens your actions, while disapproval can undermine your cause. Oh, and be aware, as some characters, just like in history, might switch sides if things don't go as planned. Prepare for an intense historical simulation full of twists and turns!
