About the game
What you do in a play session
PIP Zero is an abstract 1‑2 player game that blends puzzle, strategy, and a dash of tension. Each match unfolds on a 4 × 4 grid filled with 16 dice, each representing a resource you must zero out. The goal is to be the first to eliminate all dice from your board. To do that, players program four cards—one per column—but can only place a card if they win the initiative battle, the so‑called "Claim Action". Every movement costs 1 pip, diamond icons deliver a lethal 2‑pip kill shot, and club icons grant temporary protection. The cards are multi‑use: they can move, block, or fire depending on how you program them. The game proceeds in action‑drafting rounds where each player picks cards that define their programmed moves. Effects resolve via die‑icon resolution, so there are no numeric rolls, just the icon that triggers the intended effect. The challenge lies in anticipating your opponent's programming, locking critical columns, and exploiting the column lock mechanic. With playtime between 10 and 25 minutes and a light complexity rating (2/5), PIP Zero suits fans of deterministic logic and high‑risk decisions without a steep learning curve. Its minimalist component count ensures quick, tension‑filled rounds.
