About the game
What you do in a play session
So, do you enjoy a drawing challenge, but with a twist? Or maybe you think you can't draw and want a chance to shine? PIX is the game that embraces you either way, because here the art is pixelated! The idea is simple and brilliant: you'll use magnetic pixels to create images of secret words on a board. Sounds easy, right? But the magic happens at reveal time.
During setup, each player gets their magnetic board, about twenty black pixels, and one red pixel. Some of you will have boards of the same color, which is important for the rounds. When a round begins, players with a specific board color receive a secret word, and the challenge is to transform that word into an 8-bit work of art. And time flies, you know?
After the sand timer empties, it's judgment time! Each artist reveals their creation, and the others try to guess what it is. If someone guesses correctly, both the guesser and the artist score points. But here's the catch: the reveal order of the images depends on the number of pixels you used. Fewer pixels = you show first, but the image might be more abstract. More pixels = more details, but you might be the last to show. It's a delicate balance between being fast and being clear. Are you a pixel wizard who can convey the message with very few blocks? PIX is the test!
