In Positano, you and your friends take on the role of builders, erecting luxurious resorts on a stunning Italian cliffside, overlooking the crystal-clear sea. Each round kicks off with three simultaneous auctions, where you'll compete for the size, quality, and location of your new buildings on the impressive three-dimensional board. The catch? High-quality resorts are worth big points, but only if they have that unobstructed sea view! At the start of each round, players secretly choose and reveal two bid cards, needing to balance their priorities between the auctions and the tiles they hope to draft. Do you use your most valuable cards now to secure that essential tile, or save your best for later in the game? Based on their bids, players draft tiles that will determine where on the cliffside you can build, how many building blocks you add to your stockpile, and the quality of your new construction. Tiles are revealed randomly each round, making every auction a fresh puzzle. The competition for the best view is fierce as you build in three dimensions. Building lower on the cliff might protect you from other players blocking your view, while building at the top allows for incredibly tall towers. Scoring comes from quality buildings with a sea view, but also from collecting gelatos and capitalizing on goal cards. With three random goals revealed each game, strategies constantly shift, and even when you end up with less desirable tiles, at least you get some consolation gelatos!
