About the game
In Prosperity, you step into the shoes of a tycoon aiming to build a financial empire, but with an ecological twist! The game challenges you to balance the pursuit of capital and prosperity points with concerns about energy and pollution. Each turn, you acquire a tile representing future decades, and all players react to the symbols on it: energy can give you cash or increase your pollution, ecology affects your pollution track, capital yields money, research brings you closer to technological advancements, and prosperity grants you the points needed to win.

After everyone processes the effects of the purchased tile, the active player has two actions to take. You can grab some extra cash, clean up some pollution, advance your research, or even buy another tile. Space on your individual board is limited, so sometimes you'll have to cover old tiles, losing their benefits (or misfortunes!) in the process. In the end, whoever has the best balance between ecology, capital, research, and prosperity wears the crown of the most prosperous! It's a game that makes you think about the consequences of each decision, mixing auctions and resource management in a very interesting way.

Prosperity is one of those games that makes you ponder the impact of your actions, even in an abstract context. You need to be clever to manage your resources, decide when to invest in research and when to focus on accumulating capital, all while trying not to destroy the planet (or at least your board). Interaction primarily occurs through tile acquisition, where the competition can be fierce. If you enjoy economic games with a theme that makes you reflect, Prosperity might be a great choice.
