About the game
Imagine that new mines have just been discovered, and the gold rush — or rather, the crystal rush — is on! In Quartz: The Dice Game, you play as a dwarven miner with one simple goal: extract as much value as possible in a single day of work. The dwarf who ends up with the most money claims the entire mine for themselves. But be careful, because mining is far from a peaceful job.

The game unfolds over six intense rounds. On your turn, the first thing you do is draw a crystal from the bag. If you're lucky, it's a valuable gem; if not, you pull an unstable crystal, which is a headache but grants you a reroll marker to help fix your dice rolls. Speaking of which, dice are the heart of the experience. You start by rolling five dice and can reroll up to three times to get the best symbols. If you have a reroll marker, you can spend it for one extra attempt.

The dice symbols determine your actions. The more matching icons you get, the more powerful the action becomes. You can mine additional crystals to fill your cart, steal gems from your opponents (who doesn't love a bit of mischief?), store your treasures in the chest for safety, or perform the most devious move: transferring your unstable crystals into another player's cart.

At the end of the day, the moment of truth arrives. You sum up the points from your crystals and earn bonuses for sets of the same color. However, unstable crystals subtract points from your total, and to make things worse, the player with the fewest crystals in their chest suffers an additional penalty. It's a fast-paced game with that 'just one more roll' tension that keeps everyone on edge!
