About the game
What you do in a play session
Raiders of the Lost Tomb is a micro‑adventure game that fits into 10 minutes and is designed for 1 or 2 players. The premise is simple, but the fun comes from mechanics that blend planning, luck, and a hint of horror. First, players randomly assemble the modular tomb board using tiles that create corridors, trap rooms, monster rooms, and of course the legendary Portal Room. Then, each game starts with one player holding the Holy Grail while the other attempts to steal it. The goal is to escape with the treasure before the ancient monster catches them. To move, players flip penny‑sized dice (d2) and, depending on the number of heads or tails, discover how many spaces they can advance. This adds an element of unpredictability that makes each turn unique. The Portal Room allows instant teleportation between locations, adding surprise and route‑planning strategy. The “pick‑up and deliver” mechanic comes into play as the game unfolds: whoever can collect the Grail and reach the exit first wins. The game is quick, with matches ending in under 10 minutes, but the tension of escaping the monster and avoiding traps keeps the adrenaline high. If you enjoy treasure hunts, escape challenges, and a suspenseful atmosphere, Raiders of the Lost Tomb offers a short yet intense experience that works well for weekend game sessions or as a warm‑up for the group.
