Regine is a betting and bluffing card game that transports you straight to the heart of late 16th‑century European courts, where diplomacy and cunning are as vital as luck. Each game lasts about 30 minutes and can be played by 2 to 4 players, making it ideal for quick but tense sessions. The goal is to be the first to reach 31 points by securing high‑value card combinations while cleverly deceiving opponents. At the start, each player receives four face‑down cards and can swap one with the top of the deck, or declare “no changes” to block others. Revealed cards trigger effects— the jester can cancel a “no changes,” the assassin removes played cards, the knight forces a swap, and so on. After swaps, the betting phase begins, where players wager on the number of queens and jesters, pairs and triples, or the total value of their cards. Bluffing is key: you don’t always need the best hand, just make others think you do. When all pass, cards are revealed and points awarded.
