About the game
What you do in a play session
Renegade thrusts you into a dystopian future where Sapporo is ruled by four Super‑Massive‑Computers (SMCs). You become a Renegade Decker, a hacker trying to breach each SMC's five‑server network using informational, destructive, deceptive and cognitive attacks. Every SMC runs its own AI, growing harder to defeat as you progress. Along the way you must survive Countermeasure events that can shut you down or unleash Sparks and Guardians to block your path. To upgrade your command deck you visit the Hack Shack, an underground bar full of smugglers, hit‑men and fixers, trading for new cards, tools, software and intel. The game blends deck‑building, hand management, action points and dice rolling on a modular hex grid that represents the network. Play solo or with up to four allies, cooperating against the AI threats or competing to become the most skilled Renegade. Push‑Your‑Luck appears when you gamble on Countermeasures, while Area Majority decides who controls critical network sectors. With 1‑5 players, about 90 minutes per session and a 3.7 weight, it offers a moderate learning curve perfect for cyber‑punk fans who enjoy strategic deck‑building without overwhelming complexity. Modular boards, variable player powers and solo rules ensure each hack feels fresh.
